Job Profile
The company is looking for a Technical Service Representative who will provide timely answers to multiple groups of users including vendors, customers, and internal Lincoln departments.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in electronics or electrical repair (required)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid in the troubleshooting of machine problems over the phone and on-location
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s Future Strategy.
- Contribute to and review the troubleshooting and training materials and instruction given to Lincoln field service personnel and customers
- May conduct repair training classes for service facilities, distributors, and customers
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
- Other functions as assigned by the Customer Service Department management
- Primarily responsible for handling telephone calls in which customer assistance is required to diagnose and repair operational problems and make decisions on warranty-related issues of Lincoln product
- Provide customers with information about our entire product offering
- Qualified applicants will be required to pass an electrical theory test
- Solve customer issues in a quick, complete, and satisfactory manner
- Work closely with Machine R&D, Quality Assurance, Supply Management, and Manufacturing personnel to identify, correct, and prevent warranty problems
- Work schedule may include variable work hours
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to determine and resolve welding machine performance problems by reading and troubleshooting electrical wiring schematics
- An excellent attendance record
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology used in the design of new welding machines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Knowledge of a second language, particularly Spanish, would be a plus
- Must be able to make quick decisions and work well with internal and external customers
- Thorough knowledge of, or the ability to learn about, the entire product line
