Job Profile

The company is hiring a Technician II who will repair, refurbish, and maintain engine-driven welding equipment, electrical welding equipment, and generators and ensure a safe working environment.

Educational Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

  • 4-5+ years of related technical experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental. Tests and calibrates machines to see if they are functional for rent or sale.
  • Ensures a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Identifies proper parts and their numbers needed for repairs, and orders parts as required to complete those repairs through the Parts Coordinator or Branch Coordinator.
  • Inspects returned equipment for proper operation or damage by the customer.
  • Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally advises customers regarding the best equipment for their projects.
  • Occasionally, required to service equipment and customers off-site.
  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack, or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop.
  • Performs field work as needed.
  • Properly documents all repairs and maintenance.
  • Repairs and refurbishes all Electric and Engine Drives.
  • Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required.
  • Touches up paint, and replaces worn and missing decals on welders to maintain general appearance.
  • Performs other related duties.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must be able to work independently while making decisions based on company policies and objectives.
  • Must be able to guide and mentor associates.
  • Must be able to delegate and follow up effectively.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Problem-Solving skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment, application, and equipment is an asset.
