Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Test Technician who will assist R&D engineers in new product development.

Education Level

For Technician II

  • Vocational Training and 3+ years of experience (required)
  • GED with 5+ years in a related field. (but does not require a university degree)

For Technician III

  • Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment (required)
  • High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years of experience in a relevant work environment

Work Experience

  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise Works within standard operating procedures or scientific methods
  • Must be experienced with, or willing to learn, surface-mount soldering for small-scale electronics assembly and reworks.

  • Easy to get along in a group and team environment.
  • Electrical/electronic experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
  • Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Work in Machine R&D laboratory assisting multiple projects in the design, construction, and testing of welding products.
  • Use data acquisition systems, computers, and CAD as required. Assist in the preparation of documentation.
  • Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, etc. (training provided as needed).
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s Future Strategy.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics, and test specifications.
  • Capable of lifting 60 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with supervision and clear instructions.
  • Familiarity with personal computers using the Windows® operating system.
  • Ability to use common laboratory equipment.
  • Able to maintain detailed test records.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills.
  • Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
  • Highly motivated, quick to learn, and safety conscious.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a neat work area.
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision
