Job Profile
The company is hiring a Test Technician who will support test operations by performing the setup of fixtures, components, and machines for the engineering tests required in the development or evaluation of components, systems, and machines.
Participates in the construction and maintenance of test roads and facilities.
Education Level
- Associate’s Degree in a relevant technical field (Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, etc.).
- Solid equivalent knowledge and experience could be considered.
Work Experience
- Previous operating experience with haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, or other equipment required.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Additional reasonable requests/duties as required to fulfill the role.
- Assembles and disassembles machines.
- Builds and maintains test roads, courses, and fixtures.
- Diagnoses and repairs electrical system failures on machines.
- Performs basic machine tool operation.
- Performs mechanical repairs and changes on machines.
- Performs welding when needed.
- Plans and schedules work activities to complete assignments in their order of priority making the most effective use of time.
- Provides expert operation of construction and mining equipment.
- Reads and interprets hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Uses computers for machine diagnostics and monitoring, communication via e-mail, recording of hours worked, and documentation purposes.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel and work supervised or unsupervised in a remote location.
- Ability to weld required.
- Construction or mining maintenance experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements
- Required to have ordinary ambulatory skills, the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application information.
- Frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
