Job Profile

The company is searching for a TGM/Outlook Technician who will be responsible for safely managing the compressed gas cylinder inventory at customer sites to optimize inventory and streamline delivery schedules from our plant to the customer and all locations within the customer’s facility.

Be the first-line Airgas representative with the customer for all packaged gases, welding hard goods and safety supplies-related issues.

The position requires full-time attendance at the customer site and CDL with Hazmat.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• College Degree (preferred)

Work Experience

• At least 2 years of prior experience in customer service

Duties/Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and guidelines
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely resolution of past due invoices
• Communicate/coordinate with fill plant(s) on backorders
• Conduct physical inventory and cylinder count audits
• Confirm compliance with specifications
• Deliver gas cylinders from Plants or Branches to point of use
• Deliveries to contractors, job sites, and other customers both on and off-site as directed
• Engage Airgas Specialists as needed for new requirements and sales opportunities
• Ensure any injury or accident is reported immediately and investigated promptly
• Ensure PPE is worn are all times
• Evaluation of gas-related process problems
• Generate reports on usage by gas and department use point
• Help monitor and maintain gas inventory and determine min/max levels to ensure adequate supply(s) of existing local inventories and remote locations within a facility
• Inspect facility gas delivery system periodically
• Lead and promote safety and strictly observe safety rules of both Airgas and customer(s)
• Maintain a professional and neat appearance
• Maintain load manifests and shipping documents before and after deliveries
• Ongoing continuous improvement activities
• Perform incoming visual inspection on all cylinders
• Perform Safety Audits
• Physically place cylinders into inventory
• Proficiency with Customer’s Computer System
• Provide a superior level of customer service and support by providing prompt delivery of gases and related hard goods and supplies
• Receive incoming deliveries
• Respond to billing questions and research discrepancies in a professional timely manner
• Retrieve Requisitions/Purchase Orders, place orders, check inventory, update orders and PGI orders in Airgas SAP system
• Schedule and perform cylinder changes
• Submit all DOT Required Documentation timely to the DOT Compliance Specialist
• Support incoming material Quality Assurance
• Work designated or voluntary overtime as required
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume setting
• Basic working knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications
• Class A CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake Endorsements (preferred)
• Class B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake Endorsements
• Good math skills
• Knowledge of CGA and NFPA (preferred)
• Knowledge of SAP data entry (preferred)
• Manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner and anticipate critical deadlines
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong knowledge of DOT rules/regulations
• Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
• Working knowledge of SAP (preferred)
