Job Profile
The company is searching for a TIG Welder who will operate a manual TIG Welder (machine) on aerospace parts.
Weld and visually inspect parts per the instruction of the traveler.
Use other Welding machines or equipment as required.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants may be required a High School Diploma
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adhere to and promote the Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
- Documenting travelers after operations are performed.
- Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
- General department housekeeping.
- Maintain production standards/quality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment, as required.
- Perform the weld by manual TIG.
- Perform welding activities, following written instructions independently.
- Prepare parts for welding by grinding, machining, and belt sanding.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to perform qualification welds on 0.040” thick materials in accordance with AWS D17.1 for both fillet and groove welds
- Ability to pass a Jaeger vision test
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints
- Ability to accurately interpret work-in-process documents
- Knowledge of GTAW welding procedures and processes
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Minimal computer skills required
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Ability to certify AWS D17.1, fillet, and groove welds required
- Ability to pass a reading test
