Job Profile

The company is searching for a Tool and Die Maker who will build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in our manufacturing processes.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Completion of a Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or trade school (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in tool and die making within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fabricate, repair, and maintain a variety of precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures to support production operations.
  • Follow all safety policies and ensure that tooling work adheres to quality standards and tolerance
  • Inspect finished tools and dies for proper function using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, revisions, and modifications.
  • Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and EDM machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on existing tools and dies to extend tool life and reduce downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Set up and adjust tool dimensions, tolerances, and fits to exacting specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues affecting production performance or part quality.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Proficient in the use of manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling design, materials, and heat treatment.

Work Environment

  • Lift and handle objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment, sometimes exposed to noise, heat, or moving machinery.
