Job Profile
The company is hiring a Tool and Die Supervisor (Press) with experience in all facets of Tool and Die related to plastic injection molding, automotive stamping, or high-pressure die casting.
Die or mold maintenance supervision and leadership experience in supporting both steady production and new product or die/mold.
Needs to be well-versed in various tool and die craftsmanship skills, breakdown management, root cause investigation and problem recurrence prevention, PM system development and implementation, and spare parts management.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working in automotive die maintenance and repair (stamping dies, plastic injection molds, or high-pressure die-cast molds)
- Completion of a Tool and Die apprenticeship program or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in leadership
- Aluminum stamping or structural die casting experience (a plus)
- Project management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assign daily tasks, manage work schedule, and set direction for the Tool and Die Specialists
- Assist with budget development and reporting
- Develop and create standard procedures and methods as well as maintain updates as required
- Identify and maintain spare parts inventory and tracking system
- Interact with Production, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering to align with set goals
- Project management repair, refurbishment, and engineering change implementation
- Train and develop individual teams to skill-level objectives
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to motivate in high-pressure situations and develop individualized development plans to improve weaknesses and leverage strengths
- Good overall people management skills
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Physical Demands
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, and reach to install parts
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods, including up to 12 hours/day
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing Protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
