Job Profile
The company is hiring a Tool and Die Technician who will build new and repair all stamping dies, assembly fixtures, brazing fixtures, gages, and hand tools.
Guide and instruct hourly personnel on the proper set-up of all tooling in the facility.
Support cost out, EHS, Kaizen events, and special projects as needed.
Fabricate prototypes for engineering evaluations and will assist with industrialization engineering needs.
Work with engineers on the design and industrialization of new products
Educational Qualification
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Work Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in tool and die
- Certificate of a qualified training program for tool and die making
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to troubleshoot and make needed adjustments to various machines within the plant. Orbital riveters, Spot Welders, Pneumatic presses (bench top and standalone), etc.
- Basic knowledge of materials used in fabricating parts or fixtures (ferrous and non-ferrous)
- Build fixtures to support parts needing modification, forming, or assembly.
- Complete processes of troubleshooting, debugging, and qualifying stamping dies. Working knowledge of die protection sensor
- Fabricate, assemble, and maintain tools, dies, and related accessories required to meet internal or customer requirements.
- Perform highly skilled machining operations requiring unusual and difficult setups to maintain tolerances and fits
- Performs part checks/inspection of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools
- Plan, layout, and perform numerically controlled machining operations and surface grinding on tools, dies, patterns, models, etc., and related equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Support and guide Maintenance personnel on Press repairs, general machine repairs, welding, and installation help.
- Thorough understanding of CAD/CAM programming for use with CNC Programming and EDM Programming. Including but not limited to calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, tool change requirements, depth, and angle of cut.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in interpreting blueprints
- General Knowledge of mechanics and familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Knowledge of measuring procedures, set-ups, and interpreting results

- AutoCAD experience
- Eaton Lean system
- GD&T Tolerancing
- Mastercam experience
- Mesh requirements met weekly
- Microsoft Office
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic Assembly experience
- Technical Assembly Blueprint experience
- Welding (Mig, Tig and Stick)

- Update set-up sheets for press set-ups and brazing fixtures
- Welding SME for plant fabrication needs
