Job Profile
The company is seeking a Tool Crib Coordinator who will support maintenance, tool room, and production by the control of consumable items.
Under moderate supervision, receive, store, and disburse tools and materials to support operations and ensure proper levels of stock maintained in the tool crib.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a 2-year Degree in Business Administration (college/university) or manufacturing-related experience
Work Experience
- Possess computer experience, including spreadsheets and word processing.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adhere to customer requirements and company policies.
- Build kits for preventive maintenance (PMs) as required.
- Complete 5S Labeling as directed
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices.
- Ensure proper levels of stock are maintained at all times.
- Ensure weld caps and other consumables at the line side are stocked appropriately at all times.
- Establish and maintain a system to ensure proper supplies are available when needed and at quantities that best utilize company resources.
- Establishes automatic re-order points for critical components.
- Facilitates assists and provides training in problem-solving and other quality techniques.
- Familiarize new employees with job requirements and procedures.
- FIFO- Support keeping the parts in order by the incoming date, especially consumables.
- Follows and supports LMV Automotive System’s and Magna’s operating principles,
- Handle confidential information on a regular basis.
- Identify obsolete parts by, low usage, and run related reports, and research lines.
- Inventory the barrels of weld wire as scheduled.
- Issue material and supplies required by the department, reporting shortages and delays to the supervisor for reconciliation.
- Maintain and establish files, records, logs, and reports to reflect receipt, location, status, and accountability of supplies and tools.
- Manage the physical parts in the supply pro inventory
- Participate in continual improvement and cost-saving activities.
- Participates in Continual Improvement activities and identifies improvements.
- Perform periodic inventories of stored items to reconcile records and for disposal of obsolete and damaged tools and supplies, including research to determine the cause of the variance.
- Promote the Open Door Process, Fair Treatment, and other company policies and practices.
- Provide line-side service delivery to maintenance calls for parts when needed.
- Requisition and transfer materials and tools, preparing necessary authorizations for returns and interplant department transfers.
- Rework and sort used parts, including a rework of consumable parts such as electrodes and going to lines and collecting parts.
- Stage work orders for in-house repairs. Including staging the part/s needed with the part to be repaired.
- Store materials and supplies in bins, drawers, and racks identifying parts and stored locations; report any damage or unusual defacing of tools to the supervisor.
- Support the documentation and research of where parts are used and review parts to ensure all are identified.
- Utilizes inventory strategies to set quantity levels. Strategies include lead times and plant usage.
- Works overtime and alters shifts as required.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Knowledge of a crib environment, maintenance of MRO systems, reporting, and inventory management.
- Ability to be self-directed.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and proportions.
- Ability to develop processes for the effective operation of the area.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prepare, read and interpret written reports, business correspondence, instruction procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships, with both internal and external contacts.
- Computer skills with appropriate software skills as required.
- Knowledge of maintenance and crib activities.
- Understands inventory strategies with the ability to apply inventory reduction concepts.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift materials up to 40 pounds.
Environmental Conditions
- An air-conditioned environment with frequent exposure to a factory environment

- Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
