Job Profile
The company (Boeing Defense, Space, and Security) is looking for a Toolmaker who will lay out and fabricate wood, metal, plaster, and composite bonding fixtures, jigs, mill fixtures, form blocks, dies, other tools, templates, molds, electrical test equipment, and wire jig boards for production use.
Perform rework, modification, or developmental or experimental tooling as required.
Educational Level
- This job requires a minimum of 5 years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education from a Technical Trade School and experience.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a tooling, manufacturing, or fabrication environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
- Experience applying shop math
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to complete and maintain all required training and certifications needed to do your job efficiently.
- Analyzes engineering drawings, sketches, loft, and tool design information to develop and plan the sequence of operations required to machine, fabricate, and assemble tooling or patterns.
- Makes complete assembly layout and fabricates all types of tooling including fixtures, jigs, special tools, bonding fixtures, templates, molds, electrical test equipment, and wire jig boards which involve compound angles, complex contours, and exacting tolerances.
- Performs related duties which may include: plaster, weld, surface table layout and setup, machine, wet lay-up, prepreg lay-up, optic wire assembly, RF connector assembly, wire stripping/crimping/ pinning, and wire soldering and computer-aided measurement (laser tracker) work.
- Repairs, reworks, or modifies jigs, fixtures, special tools, bonding fixtures, templates, molds, electrical test equipment, wire jig boards, and other tooling; makes recommendations and plans for changes in tooling.
- Works from engineering drawings, tool designs, manuals, sketches, blueprints, and verbal or written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tooling fabrication experience

- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
