Job Profile

The company is looking for a Tradesperson Mechanical who will maintain the site’s Rolling Stock through planned maintenance, breakdown/field repairs, Loco Servicing and repairs, Wagon Overhauls, Track machine servicing, and repairs.

Educational Qualification

• The applicants should have a relevant Diesel Fitter or Mechanical Fitter qualification

Work Experience

• Possess aluminum welding experience
• Post-trade experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment (preferred)
• Locomotive and wagon maintenance experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Conducting Wagon Overhauls and repairs
• Fostering a culture of zero harm and continuous improvement
• Servicing Locos and associated maintenance tasks
• Servicing track machines and repairing faults
• Working towards increasing equipment reliability as well as availability

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Dogman/Forklift license/MR license
• Knowledge of SAP
• A manual C class driver’s license
• The ability to be flexible within the role and adapt to a changing environment
• The ability to communicate effectively within a team environment
