Job Profile

The company is seeking a Utility Yardman who will build some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the commercial building, bridge, and industrial sectors.

Handle and move material and equipment as required.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience operating 30,000 lbs. forklifts or bigger

Duties/Responsibilities

• Band steel to pallets and in bundles using the banding machine.
• Keeps work area organized and clean.
• Load and unload paint racks and sandblasting racks.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers.
• Move steel out of the shop on a timely basis so as not to hinder the production of fabricated steel.
• Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Safely operate forklifts.
• Operation and maintenance of all applicable equipment.
• Transport material by a forklift as needed and required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Equipment Knowledge may include but is not limited to cranes, rigging, and forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
