The company is searching for a Water Jet Operator who will operate and program a Flow Waterjet.

Operates and programs a CNC Trumpf press brake.

Operates power hand tools such as Cordless drills, sanders, grinders, horizontal and vertical saws, and drill presses.

Meets safety, quality, and production standards.

Embraces the Lean Enterprise strategy and adheres to all safety policies.

Work Experience

• 3-5 years of experience operating a waterjet to meet part specifications. Flow waterjet experience (preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience bending sheet metal on a CNC press brake. Exposure to Flow and Trumpf equipment is a plus. But will train an experienced person.
• At least 3-5 experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment (preferred)
• Experience in a job shop part fabrication and assembly of equipment environment (a plus)
• Working experience in an ISO or continuous improvement environment (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Debur parts as they come off the water jet in preparation for the next operations. 10%
• Learns to program in Flow path, Flow cut, and Flow nest. 60%
• Learns to set up or make necessary changes to setups.
• Must be able to select tooling, program at the machine, and bend flat patterns on a Trumpf Tram abend V130.
• Performs program offsets at machine controls if needed.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on waterjet. Assists with maintenance and care of work area and shop as needed. 20%
• Pulls required material using an overhead crane or forklift, retrieves, .dfx files from the server, and loads them into the Flow path to provide the best cutting process for a part in the Flow cut. When running multiple parts at the same time from a single sheet of material you must understand and use Flow Nest to get the best nesting of part from a sheet of material.
• Review procedures, work orders, blueprints, set-up sheets, and .dfx files and receive verbal work instructions.
• Stock and inventory tooling, maintain a neat and organized work center.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Assists in other areas of the shop as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to learn to program in Flow path, Flow cut, Flow nest, and True bend.
• Ability to work from drawings and oral instruction
• Basic computer skills necessary for time recording
• Good communication skills. Team player
• Some knowledge of inspection gauges and equipment. Ability to inspect parts to drawings using Vernier’s, dial indicators, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, radius gauges, etc.

Work Environment

• Spends majority of time in a manufacturing environment that is not air-conditioned.
• Exposure to possible hazards includes lifting objects, occasional noise, and forklift traffic.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand and walk, ability to lift parts as heavy as 75 lbs. may be required.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
