Job Profile

The company is seeking a Weld Automation Technician who will repair, service, and maintain turning rolls, positioners, and manipulators while ensuring a safe working environment.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma or GED (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Welding and machining experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Arranges freight and transportation.
  • Assemble turn-key Weld Automation packages. Test and calibrate machines to see if they are functional for rent or sale.
  • Assists with parts and equipment inventories, as well as rental agreement paperwork.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally required to service and support equipment for customers off-site.
  • Operates a forklift, or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop.
  • Prepares and completes digital paperwork for all machine repairs.
  • Repairs, refurbishes and conducts preventative maintenance on all Electric and Engine Drives.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Computer skills to produce effective spreadsheets, reports, documents, and presentations, as required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Communicates with clarity, verbally in one-on-one or group situations, and over the telephone.
  • Preferred background in weld automation PMT
  • Preferred background in electrical troubleshooting and wire diagrams.

  • Sub-Arc and Stick Welders
  • Wire feeders
  • Welding positioners, manipulators, and turning rolls
  • And other welding-related equipment
