Job Profile
The company is hiring a Welding Engineer to join its team.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Weld Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of related experience in welding processes
- Experience in improving welding performance, and implementing, maintaining, and improving process controls, inclusive of knowledge of aerospace materials, and tool/fixture design.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering tests and experiments to troubleshoot and improve processes related to design, materials, or processes.
- Provide Weld Engineering process support to Metallurgical & Chemical organization for GTAW, EB, and Laser Welding for components manufactured at North Berwick Aero Systems.
- Work closely with Design Engineering and guide new design concepts to best utilize equipment and standard practices.
- Work from blueprints, process specifications, and quality procedures to develop and improve welding-related manufacturing process yields, including improvements in tooling, capital equipment, and process capability using 6-sigma and statistical process controls.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Cell Leaders and production personnel to continually improve Laser processes and equipment capabilities.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of Welding Processes and Equipment.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in joining processes including GTAW, Laser, EB Welding, and Brazing is a plus.
- Flexibility around work hours, for training and development activities.
- Good interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills and general office software.
