Job Profile

The company is seeking a Weld Engineer who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing welding processes and procedures in manufacturing and construction environments.

Ensure welding operations’ quality, efficiency, and safety while maintaining compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

Core Roles-

  • Analyze and troubleshoot welding-related issues, providing technical solutions to improve quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize welding processes.
  • Conduct weld inspections and oversee quality control processes.
  • Develop and oversee the qualification of welding procedures (WPS) and maintain procedure qualification records (PQR) following applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Evaluate and approve welding equipment, consumables, and technologies for specific applications.
  • Investigate weld failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and certify welders, maintaining documentation of welder qualifications.

Program Management-

  • Communicate program/project status and changes to relevant parties
  • Coordinate cross-functional team meetings and provide regular updates to weld stakeholders.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain and improve the weld program.
  • Monitor program progress and identify potential risks.

Engineering Support-

  • Provide technical expertise and support on weld-related questions and issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to develop weld solutions and weld improvements.
  • Review project designs and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during project execution.

Data Analysis and Reporting-

  • Collect, organize, and analyze weld program data.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate weld project progress and results.
  • Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
  • Make data-driven recommendations for process improvement and cost reduction.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW).
  • Understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
