Job Profile

The company is searching for a Weld Inspector who will identify, check, measure, inspect complete units, any fabricated or machined piece, component, or parts of a unit in various stages of sub-assembly.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Experience welding while adhering to code standards.
  • Experience welding exotic materials.
  • Rigging and overhead crane operation experience.
  • Technical or Vocational Welding Schooling, or equivalent welding experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Check welds, fit up, gaps, alignment, offsets, welder certification, leaks, dirt, cracks, dryness, cleanliness, appearance
  • Identify, prepare data plate, investigate problems, follow non-conforming material disposition procedures, make calculations, and provide recommendations
  • Maintain inspection records.
  • Monitor, check hydrostatic, strain, underwater, refrigerant tests, and verify flame-out test.
  • Perform corrosive coating, mass spectrometer, and tube expansion tests as required
  • Work on the floor, guarded platform, ladders, or at the welding table.
  • Working with isometric drawings, digital 3D models, operational method sheets, welding symbols, and code specifications.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform continuous physical work, including moving heavy-weight materials, handling chain falls, structural shapes, and working in strenuous positions.
  • Follow work instructions and procedures to ensure compliance with the policy when they apply to your job responsibilities.
  • Know and follow emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Qualify in and perform the following non-destructive examination procedures: magnetic particle (dry MT), PT and water wash PT, and ultrasonic tests.
  • Use related inspection tooling and gauges, test equipment, and appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to use Weld Gauges, including Fillet Gauges and V-Wac Gauges.
  • Knowledge of Military Code Requirements.

  • Exposure to heat, fumes, and noise
  • Inspect welds in tight or high spaces
  • May work long or irregular hours
  • Wear protective gear daily
  • Work in construction or industrial sites
