Job Profile
The company is searching for a Welding Inspector who will ensure compliance with drawing and welding procedures.
Report to the Special Process Manager, the Weld Inspector will form part of the Quality team.
Work directly with Welding Operators and customers to support the manufacture of heat exchanger assemblies.
Education Level
- Applicants may require basic schooling (not mentioned)
- CSWIP Level 3 (qualified)
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of TIG Welding experience in Aluminum and Stainless/Nickel Alloys (essential)
- Minimum City and Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualified or equivalent
Duties/Responsibilities
- Define re-work and repair schemes and document accordingly
- Ensure welds are performed to drawing and weld procedures
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to Fitting and Welding Operators
- Participate in RRCA investigations and support implementing robust corrective actions
- Perform post-weld visual inspection to ensure Quality requirements are achieved
- Perform pre-weld visual fit-up and welding equipment verification
- Support improvement activities to remove waste and improve efficiency
- Undertake department spot checks to ensure TPM and continued NADCAP compliance
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Highly-motivated, flexible, responsive to change, and calm under pressure
- Ability to support technical discussions related to welding
- Quality assurance focused
- Candidate must be computer literate
- Works well in a team environment and can work across various departmental functions within the Company
