Job Profile

The company is searching for a Welder who will set up and operate assigned fabrication machines, machine tools including hydraulic and power tools which are used to produce component parts for customer service requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Welding experience (MIG and TIG) stainless steel. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety control standards.

Embraces the Lean Enterprise strategy and adheres to all safety policies.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should be a High School Graduate or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 1 to 3 years of experience with fabrication equipment, and basic machine tools.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Always maintains a high awareness of personal safety. Maintains working area in a neat and orderly manner. Maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees.
  • Effectively uses basic measuring tools to inspect parts and maintains quality standards by using charts, inspection to print, and other in-process inspection procedures.
  • Maintains production rates according to established standards.
  • Notifies Supervisor of any problems with procedures or equipment to maintain the highest degree of safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
  • Sets up and operates conventional fabrication equipment and machine tools as necessary and required. Must be able to run the following equipment at a competent level; Welders, (MIG and TIG), Plasma Cutting (handheld), Shear, Spot-welded, Ironworker, Roller
  • Using standard hand tools and small power tools (hand drills, hand grinders, etc.), manufacture component parts (weldments, spacers, etc.) that are inventoried or shipped with customer orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to operate basic machine tools
  • Able to perform accurate arithmetical calculations.
  • Able to plan the sequence of operations to produce the most cost-effective parts.
  • Able to use hand and power tools.
  • Experience with operation and set up of Computer Numerically Controlled Press brakes.
  • High-level mechanical aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Must be able to measure and verify dimensions using a tape measure, scale, micrometer, or templates.
  • Must be able to plan ordinary work from blueprints, sketches, templates, or from specific verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of product components.  Understands the physical properties of metals and applies knowledge in the fabrication of parts.
  • Numerical aptitude is desirable.
  • Reads advanced blueprints.

Work Environment

  • Time is spent in a manufacturing shop environment.
  • Exposure to possible shop hazards including noise, heavy lifting, machinery, forklift, and crane traffic.
  • Could be exposed to diverse hot and cold climate conditions for extended periods.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Will be required to lift 50 lbs., push mobile carts, and work from a ladder or platform.
