The company is searching for a Welder to join its team for the production department.
Educational Qualification
- Certification by the Canadian Welding Bureau (asset)
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Welding and Fitting
- FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, SAW Competence cards
Work Experience
- Possess 1 or more year/s of experience
Duties/Responsibilities
Duty Summary-
- Follow and observe safety rules and regulations
- Follow quality procedures, work instructions, or company fabrication standards
- Keep the working area clean
- Put special attention to visual precision, note and report to the immediate supervisor any defects in material, tools, and equipment and protect them from any further damages.
Task Summary-
- Read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols
- Use welding machines to weld (Stick, Flux-core, Arc, Co2) to tack weld and drill
- Weld angles
- Cut with the torch
- Gauge and clean the metal pieces
- Operate cranes
- Use the optimum welding technique taking into account the quality and the quantity of weld deposits to ensure a minimal misfit or the correction of misalignments.
- Use his identification stamp on each piece.
- Grind to welds flush.
- Weld with manual or automated equipment.
- Meet the requirement for non-destructive elements or equivalent.
- Choose the appropriate size and type of electrode, semi-automatic wire, and flux.
- Position all machinery, gauges, etc., and all that has to do with the amps, volts, pressure, and quantity of the supply and the speed of the rollers, rotators, and positioners.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Dexterity and accuracy
- Knowledge of automated equipment and submerged arc
- Knowledge of best practices in material loading in compliance with the occupational health and safety rules
- Knowledge of rigging and loading methods
- Knowledge of spoken English
- Very good knowledge of spoken French
