Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using the GMAW welding type

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have completed a High School Education with mechanical aptitude
• Completion of welding-related courses with Certification or Diploma in Welding Techniques

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum 6 months of manufacturing work experience
• Experience with Metal Fabrication (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to instructions provided
• Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, and safety requirement
• Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time as provided
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained at all times at the work cell
• Ensure that only quality parts are passed on to the next operation
• Ensure that the production quota is met on each shift
• Follow instructions/directions as required by Supervisor or Team Leader
• Inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications as well as the removal of all spatters
• Must use or wear equipment, protective devices, or clothing as required by the Company
• Operate a welding cell and or assembly line and perform other duties according to specific job instructions provided
• Perform basic maintenance of welding equipment, in addition to ensuring the gas and wire, are properly connected
• Weld all and any metal assembly parts within provided weld specifications
• Work in a safe manner, obeying all health and safety regulations. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to Supervisor and/or the Joint Health and Safety Committee

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to organize workload in an organized and tidy manner
• Ability to work in a team environment and be a Team Player
• Ability to work on different shifts as required
• Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
• Flexibility to work overtime as required
• Must be willing to perform tasks that are of reasonable request by the Supervisor
• Support Quality System, Safety and Environmental Management System requirements

Working Environment

• 100% plant floor (PPE required)

Physical Demands

• Lifting and pushing as needed
• Require communication with employees, peers, and management

Health/Safety

• All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes, or forklifts.
• All employees must follow all LOTO procedures
• Comply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program.
• Must use or wear equipment, protective devices, or certain clothing as required by the company.
• Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies, and procedures
