Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery, and equipment.

Also, be responsible for related safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Basic Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Must provide basic tools
• No relocation is being offered for this position

Work Experience

• Previous experience as an Industrial Welder with the basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery, and power/control devices
• Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
• Industrial Welder Journeyman’s card or AAS in Welding
• Desire and willingness to learn and perform across crafts

Duties/Responsibilities

• Abide by safe work standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Adhere to Goodyear’s attendance policy
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective material and notify the supervision
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals, and manufacturing specifications
• Log or use a computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding process to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment
• Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable
• Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
