Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery, and equipment.
Also, be responsible for related safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Basic Qualifications
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Must provide basic tools
- No relocation is being offered for this position
Work Experience
- Previous experience as an Industrial Welder with the basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery, and power/control devices
- Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
- Industrial Welder Journeyman’s card or AAS in Welding
- Desire and willingness to learn and perform across crafts
Duties/Responsibilities
- Abide by safe work standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Adhere to Goodyear’s attendance policy
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective material and notify the supervision
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals, and manufacturing specifications
- Log or use a computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding process to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable
- Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
