Job Profile

The company (Arcosa Wind Towers) is seeking a Welder who will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.

Also, inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Possess 2 years of experience (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to qualify as a horizontal welder
  • Ability to qualify as a vertical welder
  • Certification for horizontal groove welding or Arcosa will Certify
  • Certification for vertical groove welding or Arcosa will Certify
  • Certifications: Grinding, GMAW, Flux Co, or Arcosa will Certify

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Maintain and complete all required records
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
  • May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
  • May perform multiple pass welds
  • May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand
  • May require stick welding
  • Observe all standard safety practices
  • Proficiently perform Oxy Fuel Burning and Carbon Arcing

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • The ability to communicate in English both verbal and written

Working Conditions

  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
  • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • The work environment includes a plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds.

  • Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc. as required
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
