Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder who will utilize and implement acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel material and manufacture parts and products for the tractor-trailer industry.

Position Tiers-

  • Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. The employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.
  • Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement in checking completed work for quality.
  • Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and is responsible for training new employees in the department.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing-related field is preferred
  • Experience or knowledge in tractor-trailer building is preferred
  • Mechanical experience is preferred
  • Mechanical proficiency is necessary
  • Must pass a company-approved weld test
  • Proficiency in Steel and Aluminum MIG Welding is necessary

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicate with supervisors/managers issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affect safety and the productive completion of quality products and schedule of products
  • Keep the work area clean and organized during and at the end of the shift
  • Organize and restock parts and materials
  • Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while welding and performing other related task assignments
  • Perform assignment of work to contribute to material, parts, and products produced according to MAC’s quality and quantity standards while supporting a safe work environment
  • Perform daily custom build fit/up and welding assignments
  • Review specification documentation and information related to assignments to ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and MAC Trailer’s quality standards
  • Any other duties assigned

  • Ability to work assigned shifts or extended shift hours
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and comprehend job specifications, measurements, or detailed drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully perform basic math and measurement functions
  • Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally

Physical Demands

  • Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials including aluminum, steel, and parts
  • Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Ability to use close vision
  • Ability to work from a ladder and heights
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
