Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to read blueprints and shop orders. Responsible for safety, quality, production quotas, and all documentation associated with product movement and confirmations.
• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Fill holes and increase the size of metal parts
• Layout, position, align and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Mark or tag material with proper identification as required
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using the MIG welding process.
• Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines, or hand tools
• Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, had files, or scrapers
• Set up and troubleshoot welding equipment.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Weld separately or in combination using aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to operate overhead crane
• Knowledge of quality inspections
• Knowledge of welding symbols

• Authorized to work in the United States without Company Sponsorship
• No relocation is offered. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Pinckneyville, IL in order to be considered.
• Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
