Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will work independently to perform maintenance and repair on equipment related to hydraulic fracturing operations;

Produces metal products according to customer or employer specifications;

Uses multiple welding machines to repair and maintain structures and metal equipment of various size and complexity;

Utilizes all diagnostic methods to determine problems and plan repairs.

Educational Qualification

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
  • Must be 6G welding certified or be willing to take and pass a 6G welding certification test (required)
  • Must be forklift operator certified or willing to attend required training for certification (required)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of welding and fabrication experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Correctly complete hot work permits
  • Inspect all completed welds for accuracy
  • Inspect all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for wear, tears, and proper functioning and replace defective PPE prior to each welding job (i.e., helmet, goggles, gloves, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, and safety meetings, and always utilizing proper PPE
  • Monitor work locations for hazards involved with hydraulic fracturing operations and enforce stop-work authority
  • Perform lockout/tagout on hydraulic fracturing components
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment related to hydraulic fracturing operations.
  • Perform post-repair quality check on all equipment before returning equipment to service
  • Perform routine maintenance and make repairs on all welding units
  • Prepare products for welding by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel and aluminum parts
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations required materials and time frames for the project
  • Safely drive company vehicles and units day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Safely operate a forklift and other man-moving equipment
  • Use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes and complexity
  • Utilize diagnostic methods to determine problems and plan repairs
  • Utilize a four-gas monitor hourly to ensure safe conditions for hot work
  • Work independently to produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to read and understand manufacturer instruction manuals, blueprints, schematics, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills: able to interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, teammates, vendors, company men, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must be able to use and read a measuring tape
  • Must be physically able to operate a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be physically able to safely perform all duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be physically able to safely perform all duties in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to withstand exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate loud noises, and be willing to always utilize all appropriate PPE related to these exposures
  • Must be willing to be assertive to enact stop-work authority
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climbing equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of SMAW/GMAW welding procedures
  • Must have moderate knowledge of hydraulic fracturing equipment and lockout/tagout procedures on each component
  • Proficient in performing simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Proficient in working in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, able to diagnose and successfully resolve complex mechanical issues

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop or bend; and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.

  • The noise level in some work environments can be moderate and an employee may encounter extreme weather conditions while performing major duties.
