Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welder who will be responsible for setting up, fabricating, and welding complex parts using various welding processes.

Works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards.

Education Level

  • High School Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant welding experience
  • 1-2 years of Welding Degree
  • Must pass a FCAW 3G and GMAW-SC 2G weld test

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
  • Lift and move materials using a forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane, or jib crane.
  • Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment.
  • Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components.
  • Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides by OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report.
  • Read drawings and routings to determine the method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances, and welding specifications, including proper filler materials, fluxes, and welding machine settings.
  • Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW.
  • Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc, and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim, and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material.
  • Uses portable electric or air-driven grinding or chipping equipment.
  • Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix; may work in other areas fabricating parts and brazing.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.
  • Knowledge of layouts, ability to read blueprints, perform basic math, and calculate conversions.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally moves from one workstation to another to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
  • Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight, or confined spaces.
  • Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands, or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
