Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welder who will be responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

Educational Level

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in general welding
  • Must know how to read blueprints and have experience in layout and general fabrication.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Aligns new test stands.
  • Fabricates and installs new test stand equipment.
  • May be required to perform duties in other Support Services activities for indefinite periods.
  • Performs maintenance on lab exhaust systems.
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, using a pattern torch, bandsaw grinder, and other power tools.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases the size of metal parts by various processes.
  • Adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
  • Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair equipment, fixtures, test stands, automotive chassis and engines, etc.; according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders; using both gas welding or brazing, and any combination of arc welding processes.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Frequent exposure to intense heat and glare requires the use of personal protection equipment.
  • Must be able to carry objects over 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid operator’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must respond to calls for emergency repairs during off-duty hours.
  • Needs to be proficient in arc, MIG, TIG, and gas welding.
