Job Profile
The company is searching for a Welder who will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of night shift operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality, delivery, and cost. This will cover activity within AMS, Dye Pen, Machining, Core build, and Vacuum Braze departments.
Accountable for delivering rigorous Safety (S), Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Cost (C, Lean (L)/People (P) targets across the function, introducing new products and processes, and unleashing the department’s potential.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet basic schooling will be a plus
Work Experience
- Experience in aerospace, motorsport, or similar industries is advantageous but not essential
- Experience working to certified or highly regulated standards is preferred
- Experience working to high tolerance
- NVQ/City and Guilds or similar vocational qualification in welding and fabrication or relevant engineering subject (time served will also be considered depending on relevant experience)
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder with significant experience with aluminum products
- Welding certification standards would be advantageous but not essential
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding and brazing on aluminum products
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to execute welds accurately
- To set up and operate TIG welding equipment safely, to ensure optimum performance
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet company and aerospace standards
- Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines
- Continue ongoing internal and external training for welding certification requirements
- Ensure the working environment is clean, organized and meets safety and company standards
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Familiar with thin gauge sheet metal welding 0.5 – 3.5mm
