Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with continuous process improvement and lean initiatives by following process flow and remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team.
• Clamp or tack weld parts to secure in position for welding
• Lay out, position, and align truck body components using blueprints.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Measure to ensure accuracy
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned.
• Using a wire-feed welder, join components ensuring quality weld
• Using a jib boom, crane, conveyors, or manual lifting, move components into the proper position.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to demonstrate welding ability and pass welding certifications.
• Able to determine and make welding equipment adjustments as needed, read complicated instructions, blueprints, and measuring devices, and perform basic computer data entry.
• Able to learn operations of multiple machines/jigs within a job area and must be able to regularly rotate jobs to meet job schedule, team needs or to meet any safety recommendations.
• Able to manually move products and materials up to 50 pounds through regular heavy physical exertion, including but not limited to climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Able to perform basic math to determine the ability to measure, assemble, and problem-solve.
• Able to stand and work in various positions for several hours at a time. Most of the work is done on concrete, ladders, and dump bodies.
