Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete disposition following procedure for controlling nonconforming product/materials found discrepant.
- Complete inspection of pipe, connectors, and welding consumables
- Validate that the pipe or connector is accurate to the job order including dimensions, and material grade of pipe/connector.
- Verify JO to Joint Number
- Verify JO# to Forging
- Learn weld processes under job order, WPS, and engineering specifications.
- Beveling pipe ends as necessary-
- Beveling pipe ends as necessary
- Alignment
- Tack welding as necessary
- Preheat
- Learn welding processes-
- Burn holes, fit, and weld lift rings
- Operate Sting Ray welding machines
- Operate beveling machine
- Use hand torch and track torch
- Fit/weld lift eyes and eye pads
- Accurately mark the pipe with a unique identification marker
- Carry out job requirements by established procedures and specifications.
- Complete shift production reports by reviewing/checking work to ensure that is completely accurate and legible.
- Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s overall objectives
- Learn how to visually inspect and make repairs to each connector or pipe as required.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe, shop and production area.
- Participate in actions that promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.
- Before the start of the job review the machine for proper operations
- Responsible for and the authority to generate non-compliance reports, corrective actions, or preventative actions following the appropriate operating procedure(s).
- Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment under the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
- Other duties as assigned by Fabrication Supervisor or Fabrication Manager
