Job Profile
The company is hiring a Welder who will be responsible for handling all fabrication welding and repair welding activities within their assigned site. This will include identifying casting defects and excavating then weld repairing as needed.
Be required to reclaim fits as identified in the DCIQ process.
Must be capable of maintaining necessary certifications.
Support any fabrication activities within the facility, including pipe fabrication or structural welding.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- 3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment, working with heavy metals such as 300 and 400 stainless steel, Inconel, and carbon steel
- Experience working in a cross-functional, diverse, and responsive team
- Must be certified to work in ASME Section IX
- TIG, MIG and stick welding experience and certifications (required)
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment around repair services.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to work efficiently within fixed time windows for each manufacturing process
- Clean and maintain machines and tools, and keep an organized workspace
- Collaborate with machinists and assemblers on the team to discuss and solve problems relating to repairs and equipment
- Communicate clearly to peers and supervisors any related job issues
- Comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures, specifically around time and attendance, safety, and productivity
- Develop and reverse-design piping systems and fixtures for reassembly and welding as required
- Excavate and weld repair castings and reclaim fits
- Follow all routers and assembly procedures needed to repair and assemble rotating equipment accurately
- Interface with production planners and customers to discuss the condition of all critical pump components when necessary
- Lead and participate in Pre-Job briefs with team leads and peers to understand job expectations
- Maintain appropriate welder certifications and be willing to obtain additional certifications/qualifications as needed
- Maintain welder continuity logs
- Perform plumbing and pipe-fitting welds to close tolerances
- Personally, verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and workmanship
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints or manufacturer’s specification sheets
- Select the appropriate welding method, such as TIG, MIG, or stick
- Utilize cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks
- Willing to provide input on router and work process improvement
- Willingness to work with the local team on developing new tools and hardware as part of ongoing Continuous Improvement projects within the facility
- Work safely while helping colleagues work safely and utilizing Stop Work Authority when appropriate
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing work environment
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, and prioritize work assignments with support from Team Lead and Supervisor
- Able to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship
- Able to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and other written work instructions
- Accurately set up and read precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other gauges
- Basic computer aptitude to learn data entry systems as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Demonstrate a desire for personal growth and career development

- Knowledge of service environment activities including DCI, machining, assembly, test, and field service for rotating equipment.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime hours including weekends and holidays when dictated by customer emergencies and business needs
- Must be able to effectively communicate job status and support handovers from shift to shift
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds with a full range of hand and upper-body motion to work with tools and parts.
- Must own a set of personal SAE hand tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.) and a roll-around toolbox
- Must show a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality work

- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and able to effectively understand work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies.
