Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will prepare and weld material to company standards.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED, vocational/technical school, or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to operate an oxy-acetylene torch
• Able to operate computer software to view files
• Adjust the material with a saw as needed
• Fit up components to make weldments match the prints supplied
• Knowledge of weld symbols and where to look them up
• Operating a Mig welder on low-carbon steel
• Prepping metals for welding
• Scan completed drawings to the correct department
• Tig and or Heliarc
• Understanding the ISO saw process for initialing and dating prints
• Verify all materials are prepped for weldment by the BOM

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Basic blueprint reading skills
• Basic knowledge of welding fundamentals
• Basic measurement skills (tape measure, combination square set, etc.)

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high voltages.
• Regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

• Frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Required to frequently work from ladders and scaffolds.
