Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welder who will set up and operate various welding machines.
Supply or hold materials or tools, and clean the work area and equipment.
Education Level
- High School Graduate or GED
Work Experience
- Welding experience of some type or has been trained on specific welding processes
License/Certification
- Welding certifications (recommended)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist helpers performing duties of lesser skill, giving time constraints to all work procedures throughout the manufacturing process, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
- Clean and replace expendable machine parts as needed.
- Clean work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products.
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.
- Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected.
- Operate welding machinery used in the production process.
- Pack products and product parts during processing; separate defective products for reprocessing.
- Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
- Prepare raw materials for processing; measure amounts of products, length of articles, to ensure conformance to specifications; read gauges and charts, and record data obtained
- Record information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production.
- Remove products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines; pack and store materials and products.
- Separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
- Signal coworkers to direct them to move products during the production process.
- Start machines or equipment in order to begin production processes.
- Tie products in bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedures.
- Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks.
- Verify counts on finished products to determine if product orders are complete; mark or tag identification on parts; load and unload items from welding jigs, machine stands, and turntables.
- Wear many hats and may be asked to assist with other areas in the shop/office/warehouse.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to be trained to learn basic computer skills, as well as to become proficient in company-specific software.
- Proficient in English.

- Exposed to heat, sparks, and bright light
- Involves standing, bending, and lifting metal parts
- May work in confined or elevated spaces
- Requires protective gear like helmets and gloves
- Work in factories, construction sites, or outdoors
