Education Level
- High School Diploma (a plus)
Work Experience
- 2 years of previous experience in Stick, Mig, Brazing, Gas welding, and Soft Soldering on a variety of metals and alloys
License/Certification
- Valid driver’s license
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists senior welders in the completion of project work.
- Completes required paperwork and work order tasks utilizing the maintenance software program associated with repairing compactors and containers, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
- Fabricates and welds oil vessels, stands, and other objects.
- Fuses metal objects by means of gas or electric welding procedures.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
- Perform all duties in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements
- Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.
- Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts.
- Performs service calls on customer drilling rig, surface facilities, and tools, and compactor repair.
- Performs standard layouts and set-ups of dimensions and tolerances.
- Qualified in the welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on a variety of materials.
- Repairs compactors, containers, and carts.
- Utilizes standard hand tools, measuring devices, cranes, lifts, jacks, and other required equipment.
- Works from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Performs other maintenance-related work as required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints
- Precision in cutting and joining metal
- Steady hand–eye coordination
- Strict adherence to safety practices
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques
Work Environment
