Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder B who will be responsible for welding materials to build vessels or components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or layouts using arc-cutting equipment, GTAW equipment, and GMAW equipment.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 2-5 years prior welding experience, ASME experience (a plus)
  • Provide guidance and training for co-workers with less experience
  • GMAW or GTAW certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend safety training and department meetings.
  • Change out consumables and handle upkeep on tools such as sharpening tungsten.
  • Clean up area and equipment.
  • Gather parts and choose appropriate tools and equipment to set up the work area.
  • Keep time and inventory in Epicor.
  • Move product through the area with equipment such as a forklift and overhead crane.
  • Perform grinding, fitting-up, fixturing parts, sanding, and welding per design drawing.
  • Review the work order, bill of material (BOM), and blueprint to understand the job details.
  • Welds on tanks, heat exchangers, and subassemblies in the GMAW or GTAW processes.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Read blueprints and welding symbols, as well as measuring tools such as tape measure and calipers.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to walk, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
