Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder B who will be responsible for welding steel components on freezers, freezer assemblies, and components. Welding activities are applied to a variety of steel and aluminum grades.

The Welder B can work unsupervised in all departments using a variety of welding equipment and techniques.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus.

Work Experience

  • The candidates are expected to have some previous related work experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to weld using GTAW and GMAW processes on stainless steel and aluminum
  • Assist in preparation for shipment
  • Clean and grind welds
  • Perform housekeeping duties and comply with housekeeping policies
  • Plan and sequence welding to ensure minimum distortion and warping
  • Prepare material for assembly, including cutting and preparation of raw materials
  • Select optimal welding processes and parameters
  • Setup welding equipment to suit the requirements of the task

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Be able to weld in a variety of welding positions
  • Capable of operating an overhead crane
  • Competent in using both GTAW and GMAW welding equipment
  • Knowledge of safe working procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of welding parameters and settings and their influence on the welding process
  • Perform basic maintenance on welding machine components
  • Perform maintenance diagnosis and setup of wire feed systems, power packs torches, and cables on equipment throughout the plant
  • Plan and sequence welding to ensure minimum distortion and warping
  • Successfully complete and hold welding ticket as stipulated in relevant welding procedure qualifications as well as the relevant certifications of trade qualifications welder “A” or “B” with interprovincial Red Seal endorsement.
  • Understand welding symbols
