Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Welder (Die Polisher) with strong capabilities in various forms of welding, mold/die polishing skills, and quality inspection/evaluations of mold/die(s) from external suppliers’ workmanship.

Responsible for blueprint interpretation and be able to ensure a quality product.

Education Level

• Minimum High School Degree
• Trade School (desired)

Work Experience

• 3-5 years of experience with various methods of welding (Mig-Tig-Stick-Laser)
• 10+ years of experience in a Machine shop in finishing and welding operations, equipment

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist department management in providing materials and tooling inventories to meet production goals/schedules.
• Capable of setting up welding machines based on the job at hand or using Standard Welding Procedure Specifications to ensure the size, density, and depth of the bond are appropriate for the assignment. No gas bubble inclusions nor excessive heat is needed to maintain the uniform crystal structure of the weld and base metal.
• Highly skilled in Tig/Mig welding, in addition to being capable of Laser welding, to be able to coordinate with floor activities within your area on the shift. Work assignments are tied to the CNC machining operation to make sure schedules are met.
• Maintain the certification of skills and training needs for welding and polishing using BJA’s, OJT, and safe work practices.
• Perform part inspection using micrometers, calipers, height indicator, etc.
• Proficiency in mathematics, computer 2D drafting, and general computing skills.
• Responsibilities include welding, polishing, quality evaluation(s) from external suppliers, and in-process die inspections for a specialty tooling operation.
• Responsible for communicating work status and assignments with prior/subsequent shift crew members to ensure a smooth transition of information and responsibilities.

• May work in confined spaces or awkward positions
• Regular exposure to heat, sparks, and metal fumes
• Requires standing for long periods and handling heavy tools
• Uses protective gear such as helmets, gloves, and eyewear
• Works in manufacturing or industrial shop environments
