Job Profile
The company (Pratt & Whitney) is hiring a Welder (Soudeur) – Fabrication/Manufacturing to join its team.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment. Still, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand some specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may come from international organizations.
Education Level

Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjust the inert gas flow and the makeshift shield.
- Adjust the power according to the desired weld joint and make the necessary precision adjustments.
- Design or modify tools and fixing devices and adapt the appropriate set-ups.
- Ensure the correct alignment and concentricity of the set-up.
- Enter the data required for numerical control.
- Install the fixtures and determine fixing devices.
- Maintain the required welding accreditations under the joint shapes, types, and thickness of the materials.
- Manage, adjust, and operate manual, semi-automatic, or numerical control equipment as well as resistance and electron beam welding machines.
- May be asked to operate several close machines simultaneously.
- Participate in program design.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on parts during the manufacturing procedure as indicated or required using different types of precision measuring instruments and verification templates or a jet of penetrant liquid to assist in the verification. Updates the appropriate parameter logs to establish efficient operations using statistical process control.
- Prepare the weld joint, loads, positions, attach the parts to the set-up, loading tray, or work positioner, and adjust the spacing clearance.
- Remove expulsion surpluses.
- Select the electrodes and welding wires following the equipment identification and perform the adjustment.
- Use methods such as TIG, MIG, spot, and continuous or discontinuous beads.
- Weld and apply appropriate methods to obtain penetration, cutting, and desired appearance, in addition to preventing buckling or distortion.
- Weld based on various drawings, rough sketches, numerical control machine programs, manufacturing procedures, specifications, and other verbal and written instructions.
- Work from instructions or provisions to carry out parts turnback.
