Duties/Responsibilities
- Accurately complete details on time sheets/Kronos electronic timekeeping – return them to the Supervisor daily and on completion of specific jobs
- Be proficient in the use of all welding equipment, machinery, and tooling used in the Fabrication Shop.
- Complete regular preventive maintenance
- Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
- Effectively report any HSE or productivity issues through the correct channels
- Fit up and weld using SMAW and GMAW processes.
- Follow recognised procedures for issuing and returning welding consumables from stores (rods, wire, flux)
- Interpret weld procedures, and engineering drawings from sketches, materials, and electronic images identifying the most efficient, cost-effective solution without compromising quality or safety
- Maintain production area housekeeping
- Maintain welder traceability (when applicable)
- Minimize waste by using/disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently
- Notify the Supervisor of any mistakes, omissions, or alterations necessary to drawings or bills of material
- Participate in resolving assembly and production issues
- Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, under established methods and procedures.
- Report malfunctions to Maintenance as needed
- Work to achieve high quality in the assembly and welding of parts
- Work on weekly production schedule highlighting any key areas that may prevent achieving daily targets
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read engineering drawings, where applicable
- Fabrication techniques
- Mig, Tig, Oxy-acetylene Welding, and cutting.
- Time served apprenticeship or HND in a relevant subject
- Working knowledge of offshore skid manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge within a welding and manufacturing environment including the preparation of components
- Strategic-
