Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder Fitter who will be responsible for making/fitting and repairing parts used in the construction of heavy mining equipment, ensuring quality products are being produced, and maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.

Education Level

• College Diploma in Welding and Fabrication Technician or equivalent

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Welding and Fitting trade
• Canadian Welding Bureau certification (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Complies with KMC safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations or requirements.
• Performing calculations and applying shop formulas and other mathematical methods to develop patterns and layout structural steel
• Planning the sequence of tasks and deciding how to cut the steel most efficiently
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Setting up and operating trade machinery such as plasma cutters, oxy-fuel cutting torches, grinders, and drills to bend, punch, cut, and form metal components
• Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Komatsu Mining products.
