Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder Fitter who can bring fresh ideas to meet evolving customer demands in the construction industry while embracing sustainability and strong safety-conscious culture.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalency (required)
  • Additional course work with an emphasis on welding (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 2 or more years of welding experience in an industrial fabrication shop (required)
  • 1 year of experience in welding and assembly of expansion joint systems (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist other Welder/Fitters, Master Fitters, Forepersons, and Manufacturing Supervision staff as directed in the manufacture and assembly of metallic products supplied to the construction industry.
  • Responsible for the final assembly and welding of structural steel members used in expansion control systems to AWS standards, including strip seals, support boxes, sliders, etc.
  • Attention to safety and quality is essential to this position, as well as technical welding skills, and the skills necessary to assemble moderately complex expansion joints.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to operate all fabrication equipment such as saws, stud welders, ironworkers, benders, drill presses, punches, shot blaster, and a variety of portable hand tools.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, tow motors, and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to operate portable plasma burning machines and hand-burning torches.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and other written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including Safe Work Permits, training requirements, and use of safety equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and manage material of up to 50 pounds unassisted; walk or stand for long periods of time; bend, stoop, or kneel if required; wear all required PPE.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as necessary, including overtime when required.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
