Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder II who will perform experienced level work within Arcweld classifications.

Work with Welder III and Team Lead employees to acquire skills required for promotion to Welder III level.

Must demonstrate the ability to complete and understand direction from the Team Lead and other Welder III-level employees.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma, GED, and or equivalent experience with power and hand tools (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Hold or held a 6G certification (preferred)
  • Arcweld certification (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to fluently read blueprints and knowledge of weld symbols
  • Ability to set up and operate a minimum of one job requiring a Mig welding process
  • Ability to set up and operate a minimum of one job requiring a Tig welding process
  • Assist in training Welder I welders.
  • Clean production area (sweep, mop, and remove debris)
  • Conserve resources and Supplies to facilitate minimum waste.
  • Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
  • Deburr and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
  • Ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Familiarize with the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment.
  • Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
  • Gain knowledge and inspection practice to ensure conformance to Quality specifications.
  • Inform Management or Lead of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment (i.e. use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, etc.)
  • Mark parts for identification.
  • May Perform both MIG and TIG weld processes based on project needs
  • Place equipment on a conveyor belt for further processing.
  • Read and interpret gauges.
  • Recommend and select proper tooling for required tasks and recommend productive process changes.
  • Record data.
  • Scrape waste material from the machine.
  • Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions
  • Start up and stop performing routine operations related to arcwelding related equipment
  • Take instructions from Management and the Lead person.
  • Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs
  • Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture products at required quality levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Basic Math and Communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • The job consists of working in a manufacturing facility.
  • Job could consist of making changes by hand or by running machinery equipment. Will receive objects or parts on the conveyor belt, be responsible for your portion of the job, and then pass materials down the conveyor belt or to the next worker.
