Educational Qualification

• Applicants should be a High School Graduate or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum 3 years of shipboard welding experience
• Supervisory experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to obtain access to Navy ships per Navy D-BIDS requirement
• Ability to read and interpret work specifications, MIL Specs, Installation Drawings, NAVSEA Standard Items 009-03, 009-07, 009-12
• Capable of becoming qualified in SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux Core) GMAW (Mig Aluminum) weld procedures for Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum
• Capable of welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions
• Communicate with other trades to coordinate scheduled work
• Direct work of Welder Journeymen Helpers and Shopfitters
• Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with safety, quality, and industry standards
• Originate Condition Found Reports (CFRs) to the Project Manager

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing all deviations identified in the specified scope of work
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
