Job Profile

The company (Arcosa Lightweight) is looking for a Welder/Maintenance Technician who will troubleshoot operating problems and use a variety of tools to perform maintenance tasks and repairs.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend safety committees or initiatives as required
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations
  • Determine causes of operating problems in areas including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment such as motors, conveyors, mechanical components, or electrical wiring and electrical components for production equipment
  • Read blueprints and schematics
  • Troubleshoot basic 3 Phase equipment up to 600v
  • Use small power tools and electronic test equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • The ability to braze, solder
  • The ability to fabricate guards and parts as required to meet MSHA Standards
  • The ability to read blueprints
  • The ability to safely use an oxy-acetylene torch or equivalent plasma arc
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required and lift weights up to 60 pounds
  • The ability to use a variety of hand tools
  • The ability to weld (stick, wire), and basic knowledge of welding rods
  • The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
  • Willingness and ability to work some weekends and evenings
