Job Profile

The company (TAT-Limco) is looking for a Welder (MRO) with experience in stainless steel and aluminum, as well as MIG welding processes and various grinding tools.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with TIG or exotic metals
  • Completion of technical training or apprenticeship
  • Aerospace/Aviation experience (a plus)

License/Certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and repair of piping systems and metal structures
  • Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations
  • Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium
  • Measure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipers
  • Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machines, and scrapers
  • Oversee the setup of TIG welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, technical schematics, and codes
  • Use gas tungsten arc equipment as part of the fabrication process
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of both TIG and MIG welding (preferred)
  • Must be able to pass pre-hire background check screening
  • Must be able to pass the TAT Limco welding test to receive a job offer
  • Must have the ability to pass pre-hire and ongoing, random drug testing as required by a Department of Transportation (DOT) facility regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Must have strong attention to detail to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace

Work Environment

  • Exposure to bright light, fumes, and sparks is common
  • Job sites include factories, construction areas, and shipyards
  • Protective gear like helmets, gloves, and jackets is essential
  • Welders often work in hot, noisy, and confined environments
  • Work may involve standing, bending, or climbing for long hours
