Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder/Pipefitter who will be responsible for welding and fitting pipes to specifications, examining work products for defects, and ensuring conformance with specifications.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training or certification in pipe welding

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Fit and weld steel pipes for plumbing/mechanical applications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret spool drawings and technical detail data sheets.
• Communication: Effective English or Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written communication skills are a must-have.
• Excellent knowledge of Fitting configurations adhering to ASME B31.1 Power Piping
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity with attention to detail
• Knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, and welding techniques
• Must be able to pass a brief verbal pipe fitters test during the interview.
• Preferred knowledge of examination, testing, inspection, operation, and maintenance of piping systems found in industrial, institutional, and general heating and cooling systems.
• Safety: Commitment to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to achieve quality objectives and project success.
• Working knowledge of gas-cutting techniques for piping (Automatic and Manual)
• Working knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, Stick (6010/7018) welding

Physical Requirements

• Be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time.
• Be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, be able to respond quickly to sounds, see and respond to dangerous situations, and properly wear personal protective gear.
