Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Welder Specialist who will weld metal parts with MIG welding equipment as specified by layout, jigs, or prints.

Do basic electrical and hydraulics while building the trailers.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• 1 to 3 months of related experience or training (preferred)
• 6 months or more of welding experience (required)
• Electrical and Hydraulic knowledge
• Previous Weld Experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Be able to cross-train and work in other departments if needed.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate the flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain the desired flame. Holds & guides torch at the proper angle to cut metal.
• Employee operates drill press, band saw, parts washer, & overhead hoist.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Installation of basic electric and hydraulics.
• Lays out, positions and tack welds work pieces.
• Mechanical: Use of hand tools & power tools are necessary to perform hoist installation.
• Weld Mig along vertical and horizontal weld lines and examine welds for bead size and other specifications. This also includes torch setup and use.
• Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
• Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Electrical and Hydraulic knowledge (preferred)
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals
