Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Welding Engineer who will provide technical welding expertise to all applicable areas of the division.

Also, responsible for the evaluation and recommendations associated with new and existing programs as it relates to weld assembly processing, tooling, and equipment.

Develop, implement and maintain weld parameters for the new/existing equipment; weld schedules; test procedures in coordination with Ultrasound/Weld Destruct processes.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Key Qualifications

  • Develop and implement documents and procedures for validation of welding equipment and processes to meet or exceed customer specifications and provide guidance and input for the setup and programming of robots for welding best practices.
  • Develop and implement work instructions for manual weld and repair requirements.
  • Evaluate processes/equipment and make continuous improvement recommendations in the weld quality and process.
  • Lead all root cause investigations into weld-related defects and lead the team to full resolution and lessons learned.
  • Participate in APQP processes relating to the design of weld assembly work cells and tooling, and make recommendations as required.
  • Provide technical welding expertise to division personnel to support existing and new customer programs.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement documents and procedures for validation of welding equipment and processes to meet or exceed customer specifications and provide guidance and input for the setup and programming of robots for welding best practices.
  • Develop and implement work instructions for manual weld and repair requirements.
  • Develop, and implement a training program for skilled trades and assigned personnel in robotic and hand; Projection, Spot, and GMAW welding techniques and procedures and in the troubleshooting and repair of robotic and manual welding equipment.
  • Evaluate processes/equipment and make continuous improvement recommendations in the weld quality and process.
  • Lead all root-cause investigations into weld-related defects
  • Participate in APQP processes relating to the design of weld assembly work cells and tooling, and make recommendations as required.
  • Provide technical welding expertise to division personnel to support existing and new customer programs.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Recommend design changes to improve the quality, reliability, and productivity of welding equipment/process.
  • Supervisor the set-up and programming of robots for welding.
  • Maintain weld drawings, databases, documentation, etc.
